About God's Business: Family and Work are Equally Important God Assignments

Social Media Nov Wk 4 6 300x300Do you often worry if you are working enough?  Or do you worry if you are spending enough time with your family?  Have you ever felt you weren't performing important work if it did not yield a cash payment?  There's a greater reward for taking care of our families and others.

1 Timothy 5:8 NIV- Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

I meditated on this scripture because I could feel the Holy Spirit prompting me to be home. I knew the work hours were not falling into alignment with what the job had outlined. In fact, I worked 50+ hours a week. When I was hired, I was told it would be a 40-hour job. Working more hours is considered normal. The world we live in considers work more important than family. Often many people will wait on having children to get their careers off the ground. I had children when I was called to start my business.

Unfortunately, I came into my business with the same mindset of working long hours. Thankfully, God has given me the wisdom for completing the major tasks in my business. If I don't have the money to hire someone, automate it or if I can't do it myself I know that means I need to eliminate that task for now.

I have learned my responsibility is not either family or work but it's both. God is certainly in control here! I am thankful to let God lead the way!!
